“Poet and Plumber”
Revisited
Oxfordshire Contemporary Opera will stage performances of “Poet and Plumber” in St Mary’s Parish Church, Wheatley during 14th – 16th July, 2027. “Poet and Plumber” was written originally by Kit Arnold with piano accompaniment by Roger Simmonds and performed in Wheatley Park School in 2010. Local talent, of which there is no shortage in Wheatley, performed the piece. Now it has been revised and fully orchestrated by Roger Simmonds and will be performed and directed by a cast of young professionals.
As an introduction to this opera OCO will present at 7.30pm on October 3rd 2026 an evening with Marcus Davis-Orrom being interviewed by Rachel Cave. They both performed in the original version. Their conversation will be illustrated with video excerpts from the original performance accompanied by refreshments from the bar.
